What sets us apart

Skilled teaching, with genuine care behind it.

Your child’s plan is shaped by careful listening, individualized assessment, and communication with the adults who know them best. We work with parents and teachers when desired, so support stays connected from lesson to real life.

A plan for this learner

We begin by listening, assessing, and finding the gaps that are getting in the way. Lessons are never pulled from a one-size-fits-all script.

Teaching that makes sense

Orton-Gillingham lessons make the structure of written language visible through explicit, sequential, multisensory instruction.

Progress beyond the page

As skills grow, many learners also find more confidence, independence, motivation, and willingness to take on hard things.

How structured literacy works

Some learners need extra stepping stones between reading milestones. Structured literacy helps build that bridge with clear, carefully sequenced support.

How structured literacy works

Sometimes a learner needs a few more stones.

Imagine reading as crossing a pond. Some children can move from one large stepping stone to the next with the instruction and practice they receive at school and home. Children with Dyslexia and other learning challenges need more stepping stones between the larger milestones, creating the scaffolding they need to bridge the gaps.

Orton-Gillingham literacy provides that individualized support through direct teaching, deliberate practice, and a carefully sequenced path that builds from what each learner already knows.

Every child learns differently. We begin by understanding what each learner needs, then build the stepping stones that help them move forward with confidence.

The Uncover Reading approach

A structured path, taught with flexibility.

Our program is based on the principles of Orton-Gillingham structured literacy. The teacher is constantly noticing what is secure, what needs more practice, and what should come next.

ExplicitSkills are taught directly instead of left for students to infer.
SystematicConcepts are taught in a planned, logical sequence.
SequentialEach lesson builds on previously mastered skills.
CumulativeNew learning continually reviews earlier learning.
DiagnosticInstruction responds to what teaching reveals.
MultisensoryStudents use visual, auditory, movement-based, and tactile activities.

What do lessons look like?

Support wherever learning happens.

Uncover Reading supports homeschooled and school-enrolled learners with flexible one-on-one lessons designed around each child’s needs.

A typical lesson combines phonemic-awareness warm-ups, handwriting, reading, spelling, games, and hands-on learning materials. Each lesson includes cumulative review, explicit teaching of a new skill, and connected reading practice to build accuracy, fluency, and confidence.

Why I love this work

Every child deserves to feel capable.

“I want students to experience not only stronger reading, but the confidence that comes from realizing they can excel at hard things.”

I first understood the impact of reading difficulty through my own daughter’s experience. She has Dyslexia and ADHD, and I saw how reading struggles affected her confidence and sense of herself as a learner. As her reading skills grew, so did her overall confidence, independence, and self-esteem.

That experience shaped the way I teach. I care deeply about students’ progress, and I want every learner I work with to feel seen, supported, and proud of the steps they are taking.
